Etymology: From the Greek kakoethes , meaning bad habits. Usage may have been limited and short-lived; the two lexicographers who mention this word are Roger Blake in The American Dictionary of Adult Sexual Terms (1964) and John Trimble in 5000 Adult Sex Words and Phrases (1966); both authors qualify this word as Conventional, meaning: ' acceptable in polite society when appropriately used .'
