eunuch:
1. A castrated man , formerly one put in charge of the women of a harem assuming the function of chamberlain. Humorously defined by Frederic Mullally in The Penthouse Sexicon (1968): ' Unique oriental gentleman who can be surrounded by lovely women without having-a-ball .' Synonym: evirate .
Etymology: From the Middle English eunuk , from Latin eunúchus , Greek , eunouchos , guardian of the couch referring to the use of eunuchs to guard the wives and concubines kept in a harem.

2. A man with complete testicular failure (nonfunctioning testes).
