sex antagonism:
Defined in the following exchange between Catherine Gates (Ann Sheridan), an American lieutenant, and Henri Rochard (Cary Grant), a French captain , in I Was a Male War Bride (1949):
-- Catherine: ' You know , Henri, I've been thinking. Why do we fight all the time? '
-- Henri: ' You tell me .'
-- Catherine: ' Oh, just sex antagonism I guess .'
-- Henri: ' What does that mean? '
-- Catherine: ' Well, I don't know exactly, but I think it means just the opposite of what it sounds like .'
-- Henri: ' I can't even think what it sounds like .'
-- Catherine: ' Oh, Henri, I think it means we really like each other but won't admit it .'
