In psychoanalysis, a paranoid type of jealousy marked by the false conviction that one's spouse or lover is unfaithful. Patients afflicted by this delusion are constantly suspicious, always watching for signs of infidelity (such as lateness for an appointment) and justification of his or her suspicion. An obsolete synonym for this habit is amorous-paranoia .
