acne:

A papulo-pustular skin condition, especially in the face and neck , characterized by comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules, pustules, and pimples , due to an increased production of sebun (oil) from the sebaceous glands during the hormonal changes of puberty and adolescence . Frequent washing of the skin with soap and water helps to unclog the pores; noninflammatory lesions often respond to over-the-counter creams and lotions; inflammatory lesions require the attention of a dermatologist. Treatment includes topical and oral antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, benzyl benzoate, retinoic acid, and topical vitamin A derivatives.
