2. A term of endearment. One of many food-related terms of endearments incorporating the word cakes : angelcakes ; babycakes , beefcakes ; cupcakes , honeycakes , pancakes, sweetcakes . The expression is used by Leslie Nielsen in Wrongfully Accused (1999): ' Sit down , pancakes .'
