laced mutton:1. Obsolete, C16-18 th British term for a prostitute . According to James T. Henke in Courtesans and Cuckolds. A Glossary of Renaissance Dramatic Bawdy (1979): lac'd mutton referred either to ' a garnished piece-of-mutton ' or ' a flashily dressed prostitute '. See prostitute for synonyms.
2. Dated British expression referring to an older woman who dresses (much) younger than her years.
